Fr. Rogatien Charles Louis Marie Joseph RONDINEAU, MEP return to our father in heaven on 8 April 2019 in France. Below is his biography according to Fr. Damien Fahner, superior of MEP in cambodia.
Fr. Rogatien Charles Louis Marie Joseph RONDINEAU was born on March 14, 1927 in Frossay (France), ordained as a priest on April 17, 1954, left for Cambodia on November 21, 1955.
He studied Khmer language in Krauchmar, and Vietnamese language in Banam, then he was appointed as the Parish Priest from Battambang, from 1958 to 1961; he was assigned as a professor at the Phnom Penh Seminary from 1961 to 1967; Superior of the Seminary from 1967 to 1970; Parish Priest of Russey Keo from 1970 to 1975.
He then studied English in England, and then were assigned to the diocese of Kurnool (India), where he was nominated as the rector of the Minor Seminary from 1978 to 1983.
He was then appointed to the Office for the Promotion of the Khmer Apostolate by residing in the USA, first in Washington and then, from 1986, in Annandale (Virginia).
He returned to Phnom Penh in 2003, in order to achieve the publication of his Khmer-French dictionary. He definitely returned to France in 2010.
